When we tell you that there is an incredible X-rated show with Antony Starr as the lead, and it’s full of sex and violence, what do you think of?

Nope, we aren’t here today to talk about The Boys.

Starr has featured in other shows prior to his appearance as Homelander, and one of them has been called ‘the best action show no one is watching’ by fans.

It’s understandable though that seeing Starr, people only think of Homelander.

The actor has become iconic in the role of the Trumpian superhero, with many believing him to be the best part of the show – one of the biggest on television.

Despite this though, his role in another X-rated show is the one that is bringing plaudits from fans.

    Check out the trailer:

The show is Banshee, where Starr played Lucas Hood, an ex-con who takes over the identity of a murdered sheriff.

It takes place in the small titular town of Banshee, and it was an absolute hit with critics and fans, despite being way less known than Starr’s other roles.

Featuring an 8.4 on IMDb and 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it received reviews only slightly lower than The Boys, and the final two seasons both received a perfect 100 percent.

The show ended in 2016, running for just four short seasons.

A post about the show was put in the Facebook group ‘Netflix Bangers’, and while the show sadly isn’t on Netflix, the comments were unanimous in their praise nonetheless.

One comment said: “It is one of the best tv show I ever watched”.

A second said: "Absolutely brilliant, really enjoyed this series", while a third fan commented: “Doesn’t get talked about enough, hell of a show”.

Another went as far as to say: “This is the best action show no one is watching.”

Allison Keene, reviewing the show’s final season for Collider, said: “Banshee's story is full of twists and unexpected connections, as well as its telltale brutal violence.

“In a sick streak of creativity, the show continues to find new, gruesome ways to kill people.”

The show received a TV-MA rating, in large parts due to the above-mentioned gruesome violence, but also because the show features a boatload of sex and violence.

If you are looking for something to fill the hole in your life left by The Boys, which is ending its fourth season tomorrow (July 18), with a new wild series full of sex and violence – Banshee should be your next stop.

    It’s currently streaming on Max.
