Euphoria fans are remembering a powerful Fezco (Fez) and Ashtray (Ash) scene from the season two finale.

Angus Cloud, who played Fez in the HBO series, died yesterday (31 July).

The 25-year-old actor’s family confirmed the tragic news in a statement.

They told TMZ: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.

"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss.

"The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.

"Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

Cloud is best known for playing Fez in Euphoria, a local, kind-hearted drug dealer who had a close relationship with main character Rue (played by Zendaya).

He treats Ash as his family, living with him and his grandmother Marie.

The young lad was left as collateral by his mother, who was buying drugs from Marie – and she never returned.

Fez teaches Ash about the drug dealing business, in a similar way to how he was once taught by his grandmother.

Javon Walton, who plays the young character, shared a photo of the pair in an Instagram tribute to Cloud, writing: “Rest easy brother.”

Fans are now remembering the shocking season two finale, where Ash sacrifices himself for Fez and the SWAT team arrive at their home.

In the scene, Ash locks himself in the bathroom with weapons before being persuaded by Fez to come out.

When he does, he opens fire down the hall and accidentally hits Fez in the process.

Ash later shoots an officer, leading to him being shot in the head before Fez’s eyes.

Users on platform X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “This gotta be top 5 saddest moments in tv history when Ashtray sacrifices himself to save Fez , Rip Angus Cloud.”

Another put: “Damn man, almost forgot about this scene! Ashtray was a real n***a!”

Others said: “Cried my eyes out when this scene came on, RIP Angus Cloud.”

With one writing: “this scene had me sobbing, from Fez being so excited to go see Lexi’s play, his letter to her falling to the ground, to him begging Ash to surrender. Angus truly had such a[n] unstoppable career ahead of him.”

HBO said in a statement: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
