Woman ‘dying to go home’ sparks debate after complaining about ‘horrible’ European cities

A TikTok user wasn't too impressed with what she experienced on an Italian island and the capital of Catalonia

A TikTok user has divided opinions after she urged viewers not to travel to ‘horrible’ European vacation destinations.

Content creator Mikaela Testa took to the video-sharing platform on 15 August to claim that her recent trip to the Italian Island of Capri had left a lot to be desired.

Sharing a two-minute long clip with her 2.4 million TikTok followers, Testa said: “If you’re not in Europe this summer and you’re really sad about it - don’t be, please. Because it is not all it’s cracked up to be.”

She then went on to say that it takes an ‘entire day’ to walk to a ‘location that you want to go to’ and that other influencers’ trips to the enchanting island are just ‘edited and filtered’ for social media.

However, Testa did manage to find some beauty as she filmed herself and her friends enjoying a picturesque boat ride before jumping into the crystal clear waters surrounding the Isle.

“I hardly see anyone mentioning the negatives,” she stated further on in the video. “I don’t even want to mention them because I don’t want to be that b****.”

Testa added: “It’s been three months - we’re just dying to go home at this point we’re just hating, we’re being negative, you get to a point in life where you start to hate everything around you and you just need something stable. Like my own bed, my own TV and my cats."

In another video, posted on the same day, Testa told TikTok users to ‘skip Barcelona’ due to ‘standing in p**s’ every day and claimed that the Spanish city ‘stinks and is horrible’.

“We’re depressed here and so bored,” she said before stating that she and her friends were walking around wearing pyjamas as there was 'no need to look good for this city'.

Naturally, Testa’s two vlog-style videos - which have garnered 4.3 million likes between them - have divided the opinions of social media users.

The videos have sparked debate.

Regarding her review of Capri, one TikTok user said: “Bruh seeing someone hate your dream life is just soul-crushing.”

A second added: "I think it’s just your camera though. Because it is beautiful."

However, another viewer agreed with Testa’s views and wrote: “Completely agree I wanna go home. (Australia) is best.”

Regarding her Barcelona vlog, one viewer commented: “Barcelona is amazing what are you talking about.”

The traveller herself replied to this comment and wrote: “Why does nobody mention the negatives like literally urine puddles EVERYWHERE and major crime, violence and theft in daylight!”

Another user penned: “Barcelona was so rough for me. My phone and wallet got stolen. I had to run to the police station drunk asf so they can call the us embassy.”

While a third argued: "I just came back from Barcelona and it was amazing ... nothing but positives."
