Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit in the void? Well, wonder no more as one man decided show just how disorientating the world’s blackest paint can be by painting a room with it.

Bit of an odd flex for sure, but this man can definitely brag that he likely has the darkest room in the world.

YouTuber James Orgill, who runs The Action Lab channel, showed took his viewers on a bizarre and fascinating journey of scientific discovery with a video back in 2021.

In the video, which has been viewed more than 8 million times on YouTube shows what it would look like if you painted the world with ‘The The World's Blackest Paint’.

So what is the blackest paint you might ask? Well, according to one company, it is Musou Black.

Explaining just how dark it is, the company's website says: “General black acrylic paints absorbs around 94-98% of light, however, Musou Black absorbs up to 99.4% of light in the visible light range.

“This water-based acrylic paint can easily be applied using an air-brush or a paint-brush. Achieving an overwhelming blackness has never been easier!”

And rather than sacrifice a room in his house, Orgill instead made a room to paint black.

Now you might be thinking that black is black and there wouldn’t actually be any noticeable difference, and well... you would be pretty wrong.

Writing on social media, many people commented that the effect is so convincing it looks like it Orgill has simply made the room darker by using green screen effects.

“Imagine having a bedroom painted like this with just some fairy lights leading to it that are always lit. Never again would the sun wake you up by making your room too bright,” one user wrote on YouTube.

“Looks like film green screen effects. A black slate you’re animated in front of. That’s incredible,” commented another.

“I’d love a small room like this to just go in and chill, be really calming,” wrote a rather optimistic user, think it’d be more terrifying than anything.

“This would be the scariest interrogation room, just Imagine that room with a old wooden desk with hand cuffs built in and one of those old hanging lights you can use to blind the person your interrogating,” a rather imagintive user added.
