Taco Bell lovers have been left mind-blown over the discovery of an apparent Mandela Effect situation relating to coin boxes at the fast-food chain.

The Mandela Effect is one of those phenomenons that we'll just never be able to make sense of. How is it that entire, very large groups of people can be so convinced by something, only to learn they all had it wrong the entire time?

It seems impossible to believe, but there are countless examples to back it up.

For instance, did you think the Monopoly Man - the well-dressed guy who appears on games of Monopoly - wears a monocle? If so, think again.

Once you've managed to recover from that particular revelation, you can turn your attention to this other example of the Mandala Effect, which has been raised on a Facebook group called 'Mandela Effect & Glitches In The Matrix'.

Taking to the platform, one woman has questioned whether the coin boxes that used to be seen at Taco Bells actually contained water or not.

Unfortunately the increasing use of card payments mean that charity coin boxes aren't quite as common as they used to be, but Taco Bell customers still have a very clear memory of them.

The woman wrote: “I know most of us will remember these at Taco Bell. The Taco Bell’s local to me had them up until about 10 years ago."

In her post, the woman recalled one particular moment when she noticed the coin box 'didn't have water in it any more'.

"I found it very strange that I said at the time 'well that’s dumb! They don’t even have water in them anymore'," she recalled.

Only, the question is, did the coin boxes ever contain water?

She continued: “I clearly remember they used to hold water. Nobody I’ve ever discussed with recalls the water but I am 100% certain they DID used to be full of water. Anyone else remember them with water?"

People were quick to weigh in on the matter, with many joining the confused woman as one person claimed they ‘1000000%’ did.

However, other people weren't so sure, resulting in a heated discussion online.

There were a few people who came up with a more simple explanation, suggesting there were likely two models available to restaurants - one with water and one without, while others claimed they all had water at one point but were likely drained due to possibly leaking.

One person even went as far as to posting an image of a coin box, albeit a slightly different design, as proof they once held water.

    How do you remember them?!
