An anonymous woman has slammed her biological parents for giving her the 'worst name ever' and is considering legally changing it as result.
Choosing a birth name for any parent is certainly a difficult decision, and looking at the most popular names of any given year is always a good indication of viral trends and what is popular amongst parents.
But what is fun about going with the popular names? I mean, you don't want to give your child a ridiculous name, but it's always good being unique, right?
However, one woman feels her parents took the uniqueness a bit too far to the point where she believes her parents gave her the name as a punishment 'for being born'.

The name, you ask... Alone.
Taking to Reddit, Alone penned: "My name is Alone. I'm 20F and I feel like my biological parents gave me this name to punish me for being born. I live with my foster parents now and they've given me the nickname, Athena. But since I never had my name legally changed, my driver's license and all of my documents still have me as Alone."
While her name might suggest, Alone said she's never been lonely as she has a group of close friends.

She continued: "I've been considering getting my name legally changed but I don't know if I should choose Allie, Athena, or another name entirely."
Many have flocked to the comments section of the Reddit post, expressing their sympathies with Alone and offered their condolences.
One Redditor commented: "You could always make your official name Athena and just have Allie be your nickname. I get decision fatigue a lot and I can imagine it must be hard because it's such a big decision but I think you'll feel relief once the whole process is over."
The Reddit user went on to say that while she 'loves' both names, her personal preference would be Athena as it 'denotes someone with a lot of personal strength which is sounds like you have'.

Speaking on the name, a second added: "If you like Allie and Athena, why not go for one first name, one middle name? Allie Athena is a very cute name. Athena Allie doesn’t quite have the same flow, but a lot of Allies are actually Allisons and Athena Allison flows quite nicely."
Meanwhile, a third remarked: "I think getting your name changed formally to Athena would be a good call. You could still go by Allie but as far as how you’re perceived on things like job applications using Athena would be your best bet."
