Shocking percentage of people that masturbate at work after boss gives employees half-hour pleasure breaks

The woman, dubbed the 'queen of ethical porn' officially wrote the practise into company policy in 2022

Employees of an adult entertainment company can masturbate on company time for up to half an hour, with the business owner claiming self-pleasure has had a serious impact on staff productivity.

While everyone's work routine differs, some individuals are reportedly using the ten minutes between client meetings for a private self-pleasure session, typically conducted in office restrooms, according to experts.

If the idea of wapping one out in the toilet during a busy day at work seems like the norm, then you’re apparently not alone.

According to a survey conducted by Time Out New York, a whopping 39 percent of people have reportedly masturbated on the clock.

Some claimed it’s because they wanted to ‘get paid’ while fapping, but others said it gave them a ‘moment of peace in an otherwise aggravating work environment’, as per Psychology Today.

Of course, the benefits of self-pleasure are well-documented. It can be used as a temporary stress reliever, can quell menstrual cramps, and even boost your confidence during high-pressure tasks and asks, stated Boots.

According to Swedish film director and screenwriter Erika Lust, 48, masturbating could also help you become more productive at work.

Lust, who runs an adult entertainment company in Barcelona, Spain, has stated that every single one of her employees may take what she dubs a 30-minute ‘masturbation break’.

The idea is that every day, you can take half an hour out of your hectic work schedule, head over to one of the office’s designated masturbation spots, and let off some steam.

Once the timer runs down, you hop back on calls and continue rifling through your inbox for a missing meeting link.

And the best part? Nobody will question why your online avatar was set to ‘away’ for so long.

Speaking about why she brought the statute in, Lust explained: “The truth is masturbation can help people manage stress, regulate their sleep, and connect with their body and sexual desires, among other advantages.”

The company’s masturbation legislation began with a trial run in lockdown before being written into company policy two years later.

“With the pandemic and the huge shift in how we live our lives, I began to notice that my employees had become somewhat agitated and were performing with less energy than before,” Lust stated.

“So, knowing that there's only one thing that will make everyone feel good, I set up a private masturbation station for them to enjoy.

“I value my employees and I know that when they feel good, we do good work.”

Over time, staff have reported that this unusual initiative has increased the amount of work they’ve been doing while reducing levels of aggression.

Lust doesn’t just want to increase productivity; she wants to normalise masturbation.

"Sexual wellbeing is deeply intertwined with your overall mental health and physical health and should be treated with the same respect and resources."

Dominnique Karetsos, co-founder and CEO of the Healthy Pleasure Group (HPG) has echoed Lust’s comments, telling Boots that she defines ‘healthy pleasure as sexual self-fulfilment’.

“Understanding that sexual self pleasure is related to both sexual health and sexual wellbeing – and therefore a vital part of both our physical and emotional health – is incredibly important,” she said.

“Beyond a person’s sexual behavior, sexual self-fulfilment means having access to high-standard sexual health information, education and care, while also recognising your right to sexual pleasure, satisfaction and intimacy, without fear of shame or embarrassment.”

Psychotherapist Ian Kerner added that should ‘respect workplace structures’ and ‘create boundaries’ when it comes to knocking one out.

“Very often, in my experience, when men masturbate in the workplace, it’s because masturbation has become a pretty substantial coping mechanism,” he explained to Psychology Today.

“That’s why I have a lot of male patients who will masturbate in the workplace. They feel a lot of stress, and they’re in an activated, stressful, anxious place, and they’re not fully thinking, and the next thing, they’re in the bathroom masturbating.”

Sometimes it’s better safe than sorry. Unless, of course, you’re a Lust employee—then fire away!
