Gas station worker starts debate after showing how many donuts he's forced to throw out every day

It's a cold, cruel world.

A gas station worker has sparked debate on TikTok after revealing how many donuts he has to throw in the bin at the end of every working day.

TikToker Adonis filmed himself putting perfectly good donuts straight into the bin while cleaning up after his shift, even revealing that he'll 'get fired' if he takes a bite out of a single one.

In the caption he asked: "Do my job really got me wasting 66 donuts and if I bite one ima get fired[?]"

Adonis's video was so shocking that it quickly went viral, racking up a whopping 5.2 million views.

People were horrified when they saw him chuck out the delectable-looking donuts without being tempted to keep a single one for himself.

"I would be let go immediately", admitted one viewer.

"Bruh I would get fired first day", agreed a second.

Others couldn't figure out why the food had to be dumped, and couldn't be given to staff or saved for people in need who might be hungry.

Complaining about the unfair policy, one TikToker wrote: "Yup all stores throw away tons food and products but will be upset if you make yourself a free meal to take home."

A second commented: "They’re still losing money either way so why not feed the hungry[?] Makes no sense to me."

And another added: "I just wanna argue with the manager [about] why you can’t just take them if they're just gonna throw them out."

On the other side of the argument, some people tried to explain why businesses would follow such a wasteful rule.

"It’s about food freshness and avoid all these contamination’s and food-borne illness. Can leave food out for a certain amount of time etc", suggested one person.

But another viewer hit back: "I find that interesting. What made it go absolutely rancid in the 5 minutes it took to close when they were willing to sell it?"

Amidst all the arguing, one viewer was quietly formulating the perfect solution to Adonis's predicament, eventually taking to the comments to reveal his master plan.

"Double bag the garbage can with 2 clean bags, put the donuts in lightly so you don't ruin them", he began.

"Seal the bag with a rubber band, then lightly put them in the dumpster or next to it, call a friend and tell them to pick them up for you. Boom unlimited donuts and you get to keep your job."

You know, this donut heist sounds so damn crazy... it just might work.
