Travis Barker's 17-year-old daughter responds after being accused of using 'black girls as props' on TikTok

Travis Barker's daughter has responded to criticism faced following a recent TikTok post.

Alabama Barker - the daughter of US musician Travis Barker - has responded to the huge backlash she has received over a recent TikTok video.

The 17-year-old caused a bit of controversy over the weekend as she posted a video on TikTok, showing her dancing to a song called 'Perc & Sex' by YN Jay.

Dancing to songs on the popular video platform is hardly uncommon, but this particular one has caused a bit of outrage due to the lyrics involved.

In the TikTok, Barker is joined by a group of friends as she danced along and lip-synced the lyrics to the song, which mentions the Class B drug Percocets.

Barker lip-syncs: "How the f**k did you pull up to the motherf**kin’ party and forget the Percs?

"Perc’ 10, I just popped a Perc’ 10 / Perc’ 30, I just popped a Perc’ 30 / Perc’ 60, I just popped two Perc’ 30s / Perky dance, make me do my Perky dance."

The video has been viewed close to two million times on TikTok, with many saying that they felt uncomfortable after watching it.

Some people even claimed that Barker 'was using black girls as props' as she was joined by an entire group in the video.

One person wrote: "There’s just a lot off with this. Sis, is using those black girls as props. Overall inappropriate and cringe."

A second added: "The fact that Hollywood and people are ok with this behavior is wrong! There is an age and a place for everything this is not it. Her parents need to do better."

Others described the lyrics as 'disgusting' while others also called it 'cringey'.

Barker has since responded to the criticism, commenting under an Instagram post sharing the TikTok by Hollywood Unlocked.

She said: "Many would say to be quiet and let it be but it’s mentally exhausting. They and myself were at a video shoot even though I do not need to explain all of the negative assumptions about us, it’s absurd to see a group of friends just having a good time gives so many grown adults a topic to talk about."

"It’s a trending song on TikTok. Once again everybody is doing but of course cause it’s myself it’s going to be posted, I can’t catch a break from accounts like this in general."

The TikToker then went on to slam the outlet, she added: "You guys are so low for making a post about a minor in general, all I can say, is do better, I let you live your life, so it would be appreciated if I can live mine."
