Snoop Dogg has shared his hilarious opinion about Artificial Intelligence at a recent panel.

The Doggfather himself, 51, is well aware of the chokehold AI technology has at the moment. In only the last few weeks, an AI robot has been tipped to become the future of policing in America and AI was used to create a winning photograph at the World Photography Award.

Snoop has now shared his reaction to AI during a panel held at Milken Institute's Global Conference in Beverly Hills, California on 3 May. Snoop sat alongside Shirley Halperin, Variety’s executive music editor and Gamma music company founder Larry Jackson where they discussed technology.

Speaking to the audience, the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ musician expressed his bemused thoughts about AI, which led to lots of laughter in the room.

Snoop Dogg is shook just like the rest of us.

Snoop explained how having a conversation with a an AI chatbot – such as ChatGPT or Bing Chat – reminds him of the sci-fi films he used to watch when he was a child, which is something lots of people can probably relate to as the new tech can be a bit daunting. He also referenced the technological pioneer Geoffrey Hinton, known as the ‘Godfther of AI’ who resigned from Google this week and said AI could be far more dangerous than we realise, which is not the most promising farewell message from an expert we’ve heard in our time.

It turns out Snoop is also spooked by the prospect of AI and he is understandably mind-blown.

“Well I got a motherf*cking AI right now that they did made for me. This n***** could talk to me. I'm like, ‘Man this thing can hold a real conversation? Like real for real?’ Like it's blowing my mind because I watched movies on this as a kid years ago."

AI has become very accessible in the last few months.

As the audience erupted in laughter, Snoop Doggy Dogg continued: “When I see this sh*t I'm like, ‘What is going on?’ And I heard the dude [Hinton], the old dude that created AI saying, ‘This is not safe, 'cause the AIs got their own minds, and these motherf*ckers gonna start doing their own sh*t,’I'm like, ‘Are we in a f*cking movie right now, or what?’ The f*ck man?

“So do I need to invest in AI so I can have one with me? Or like, do y'all know? Sh*t, what the f*ck? I'm lost, I don't know.”

AI does feel very much like Will Smith’s I, Robot and we’re all just trying to wrap our heads around it – including Uncle Snoop - but it’s all happening so fast….
