Pauly Shore seems a little hurt after Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at him during the 2023 Academy Awards.

With both Ke Huy Quan and Brendan Fraser nominated for (and subsequently winning) Oscars this year, Kimmel saw an opportunity to bring up Encino Man and he took it:

Both Brendan, 54, and Ke, 51, starred in the 1992 comedy alongside Pauly, 55, and now two out of three are Academy Award winners.

Deciding to make Pauly the butt of the joke on Sunday night, Kimmel reminded audiences: "31 years ago in 1992, Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan were in a movie together, do you remember which movie it was? Encino Man.

"Two actors from Encino Man are nominated for Oscars. What an incredible night this must be for the two of you, and what a very difficult night for Pauly Shore."

In the end, Brendan took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in The Whale, and Ke won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

And Pauly couldn't be happier for his two former co-stars - but he is a little bit peeved about Jimmy's joke.

Speaking to Page Six, the actor admitted that the cheap shot Jimmy made at him was no different than how people had treated him in the past.

"We love to hate people when they’re on top. People wanted to smash me down and they did," he said.

"I was always nice to everyone, always cool, I put my heart into all my films."

But, by the sounds of things, Pauly is sort of done with being in the spotlight anyway.

Speaking of being a celebrity, he added: "You’re buying and selling a human being. Human beings have feelings, it’s not like selling real estate."

When all is said and done, though, he is proud of his pals, and seems willing to take any jabs with a pinch of salt if it means celebrating Ke and Brendan.

Taking to Twitter after the awards ceremony, he assured fans: "I don’t know if you guys saw the @TheAcademy Awards last night, but @jimmykimmel poked fun at me in the monologue. I loved it.

"But what I REALLY loved is that my old buddies from back in the day, Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan, took home the Oscars!

"Never quit on your dreams."

And Pauly might be working on a little comeback of his own in the future.

"I do truly miss acting and I miss being on set," he admitted.

"Hopefully it happens... it’s about just dreaming and hoping... People are always like, 'We want you back!'"

Could Pauly be the next big Hollywood comeback?
