Fans claim Offset is 'trying to be Kanye West' with mask at Oscars afterparty

It was a night of glitz and glamour last night in Los Angeles, with the world's biggest stars gathering for the 95th Academy Awards.

As always, there were a whole host of eye-catching outfits strutting down the red carpet, which was actually a 'champagne' carpet this time around - though it's doubtful that much caught the eye of Offset.

The rapper rocked up at the Vanity Fair afterparty wearing a bejewelled mask which didn't seem to afford the greatest visibility.

It was probably just as well then that he had wife Cardi B by his side holding his hand, steering him clear of any perilous banana skins or abandoned skateboards.

It's a bold look, and what better time to go bold than at the Oscars?

Surely you're going to want a drink or two at an Oscars afterparty though, and I'm not sure how easy it is to quaff champagne through a big old sparkly mask.

What's more, a lot of people felt like the look was just mimicking Kanye West.

The disgraced rapper - who changed his name to Ye - has been sporting masks and face coverings for a long time now, and many assumed that he was Offset's inspiration.

One person commented: "He thinks he's ye."

Another agreed: "Sheesh the late Ye West pulled this off in what... 2013? try something new."

A third added: "Ye has the attitude to pull it off, I can't explain it but he does, offset doesn't."

Rebel Wilson and her fiancée Ramona Agruma were also among the famous couples at the Vanity Fair party.

The Pitch Perfect star - who announced her engagement to Agruma last month - was seen embracing her partner at the Wallis Annenberg Centre for the Performing Arts, Beverly Hills, after the Academy Awards ended.

The 43-year-old announced her relationship with the Los Angeles-based fashion and jewellery designer last June and the birth of her daughter Royce Lillian, by surrogate, in November.

Singer Rita Ora and her husband Taika Waititi also shared an embrace before heading into the Vanity Fair party, a staple of the Oscars.

The 32-year-old, wearing a white corset, was accompanied by Waititi at the star-studded event three years after he took home an Oscar for Jojo Rabbit at the 92nd Academy Awards.

Pop star Joe Jonas and his wife, Game Of Thrones actor Sophie Turner, were pictured in black outfits smiling together.

Another married couple, True Blood actor Joe Manganiello and Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, opted for contrasting outfits of a black and white tux and a gold dress.
