Nicki Minaj doesn’t approve of the body positivity movement if it promotes ‘unhealthy bodies’

She says it's 'not believable'.

Nicki Minaj has opened up about her views on the body positivity movement.

In recent years, there has been a growing campaign to normalize bodies of all shapes and sizes.

While many think it's a great thing to have more diversity in the media, it has attracted a lot of criticism and commentary.

Minaj has gone through her own journey with her body, especially as a rapper in a male-dominated industry.

While she has been no stranger to showing off her assets, she says she's come a long way in accepting how she looks.

In an interview with Vogue, she said: "I just looked at a video that I posted on Instagram when I was 25, and I would fucking pay to look like that right now.

"But today I can say that I’m at peace with who I am and how I look. I have to say this as a Black woman, though."

She explained how she wants to give her son the best start in life by avoiding sugar to ensure he doesn't end up with diabetes.

But when asked on how she views the body positive movement, she was split.

"I’m not in favor of body positivity if it means unhealthy bodies," she explained to the outlet.

"That’s bull. It’s not believable, so let’s stop pretending.

"Recently I had to get a breast reduction, and actually I love it.

"I used to want a bigger butt, and now I look back and realize how silly that was. So—love your curves, and love your non-curves.

"There’s nothing wrong with any of it.”

She even admitted to feeling pressure to get back into her fitness regime after giving birth to her son.

The rapper had an inspiring message for those who might be questioning how they look in comparison to someone else.

“I’ve had a lot of time to figure myself out," she told Vogue.

"The idea of accepting what you can’t change—it just never clicked with me before.

"Now I understand.”
