Nick Cannon is facing serious backlash from Taylor Swift fans after joking that he'd be interested in having his 13th child with her - just days after news of her reported split from Joe Alwyn.

Cannon, who is a father to 12 children with six different women, made the comment during an appearance in The Howard Stern Show, when asked if he plans to have any more kids. Take a look:

During the interview, which aired on Monday 10 April, Nick teased listeners about his future plans to have children, worried that he was going to say the wrong thing.

Unfortunately, he appears to have done just that.

"I can never answer correctly because I don't know," Nick began.

"One time they asked me on Entertainment Tonight and I said I'd leave it in God's hands and all these religious people got mad... I think I'm happy currently with my dozen that I've got."

Pressing Nick for further details, Howard Stern asked him if he'd be up for having another baby if he met the right woman.

"Who would be the woman that could make you have a baby again?" asked Stern.

"If I said you could have any woman in the world... if I said to you, 'Nick, Taylor Swift wants to have a baby with you-'"

Before Howard could finish the hypothetical question, Nick eagerly chimed in: “Absolutely, I'm in. Let's go. That's the one. That, I’m all in."

Taylor fans lashed out at Cannon for the comment.

Raving about the 'Anti-Hero' singer, Cannon gushed: "I think she's an amazing song writer.

"What I do love about Taylor Swift is the fact that she has been so vulnerable and open with all of her music since [she was] a young girl."

Suggesting that he and Taylor would get along because of their reputations, he added: "And she kinda like me. Me and Taylor's numbers are very similar, when we're talking about being in these streets.

"So, I think she would relate to me very well, based off of, like, 'Yo, you've dated a lot of people in the public eye, so have I.' So, we probably will understand each other.”

Howard then noted that it had been just a few days since news of Taylor Swift's split from her partner of six years Joe Alwyn was announced.

"You know I know that, Howard," joked Nick, who welcomed his 12th child just four months ago. "You know my Spidey senses were tingling."

Howard then told Nick: "I would love if you had a baby with Taylor Swift. I think it'd be fantastic."

And he agreed: "Me too! I think that'd be amazing."

However, countless Taylor Swift fans would beg to differ, though.

In fact, most people who caught the interview were pretty horrified by Cannon's comment.

"I have a really great sense of humor but this ain't it. In fact it's gross that this would even be a topic and something said out loud. Respect women," commented one viewer.

Twitter

"Just because she's single doesn't mean you can use her. What the hell is up with the misogyny? She's a person, not an incubator ffs," a furious Twitter user wrote.

"... Isn't this like incredibly creepy?" asked another.

And one fan pointed out: "She has been single for three days and men are already talking about impregnating her. Gross on so many levels."

UNILAD has contacted representatives of Nick Cannon for comment.
