Nick Cannon has welcomed his ninth child, two months after his eighth was born.

The comedian and presenter took to Instagram to announce he and LaNisha Cole had welcomed a baby girl named Onyx Ice Cole Cannon, vowing to 'protect, provide, guide and love' his new child as best he can.

Cannon - who recently announced he is also expecting a 10th kid - went on to ask others to direct any 'criticism and cynicism' they had towards him, and not to the mothers of his children.

He wrote: "Introducing ONYX ICE COLE CANNON… Once again Today I am in Awe of the Devine Feminine! God has given me and @MissLanishaCole the privilege of hosting an Angel here on earth. I vow to protect, provide, guide and love this child to the best of my abilities.

"In this moment of celebration and jubilee, I wish to mute any low vibrational frequencies and only rejoice with the Highest Class of Civilization who are truly aligned with our purpose here in this dimension. We all learn so much from these Angels we call children. I am learning that it is not the limited amount of time we have on this planet but it’s the limited amount of love that is the issue.

"And I promise to love this little girl with all my heart, regardless what anyone says… I’ve given up on attempting to define myself for the world or society but instead I’m doing the work to heal and grow into the infinite Being God ordained me to be. Hopefully I can teach Onyx the same, to not let others shame or ridicule her with their outside opinions, because when they do they are only projecting their own harsh experiences, pain and social programming onto her unblemished beauty.

Cannon continued: "As we all know I am not easily triggered and have quite tough skin and have always been an open book but not everyone in my family has that same level of strength. So I pray and ask others to please project all criticism and cynicism towards ME and not the loving and precious mothers of my children."

He also praised Cole as 'one of the most guileless, peaceful and non-confrontational kind souls' he had ever met, saying she 'only deserves to revel in this moment of blissful joy of motherhood'.

Cannon's family tree is a fairly complex one, having first welcomed twins, son Moroccan Scott and daughter Monroe, in 2011 with then-wife Mariah Carey.

After the couple split in 2014, Cannon had his first child with Brittany Bell, who gave birth to their son, Golden Sagon, in February 2017 - later also giving birth to their daughter, Powerful Queen, in 2020.

The following year, Cannon was busy again, but this time the Wild ’N Out star’s other baby mama, Bre Tiesi, announced the birth of the couple’s twins, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion.

Just nine days after the birth of the twins, Cannon also welcomed a baby boy named Zen with model Alyssa Scott. Sadly, however, five months after Zen was born, the infant died of brain cancer after being diagnosed with high-grade glioma.

In July of this year, Tiesi revealed that the couple had had another baby, a son named Legendary Love.

And now it looks like we're just waiting for baby 10 to arrive later this year... it all sounds exhausting, to be perfectly honest.
