Snoop Dogg says only one person can outsmoke him

Snoop Dogg is largely known for two things: rapping and puffing the magic dragon into another dimension.

As well his music, there's no doubt Snoop Dogg is largely known for puffing the magic dragon into another dimension

But while many of us would have him as numero uno when it comes to the old ganja train, the man himself claims that there is one mortal among us who can outsmoke him any day of the week. Yes, really.

According to Snoop, he once went on the bender to end all benders with a rock legend, who put him to shame.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel back in 2018, the 50-year-old was asked about who the top dogs were when it came to smoking the reefer.

"Seth Rogen was here last week, and we were talking about Mount Rushmore of pot smokers, and of course, you are on," the host said. "And I think that Seth is on Mt. Rushmore. Who would you put on that Mt. Rushmore?"

Snoop then replied: "I would put Bob Marley. I would put Cheech and Chong - they were the first faces on the mountain, they're the ones who showed us what a mountain was."

However, he then revealed who was the real king.

Willie Nelson is the king of the reefer, according to Snoop.

"Willie P. Nelson is definitely on there," said Snoop.

"And by the way, Willie Nelson is the only person who has ever outsmoked Snoop Dogg. I had to hit the 'time out' button."

When asked if he'd ever had to hit that button before, he replied: "Never. Never."

And Willie later corroborated the story.

In an interview with Daily Beast, the country legend recalled: "That was over in Amsterdam! I called Snoop and I said, 'Hey buddy, you gotta come over here. This is where it’s at!'

"So he came over and we hit every bar, every smoke place in Amsterdam. We had a helluva time."

When asked about his proficiency with weed, Willie added: "Oh, I don’t know. There’s probably people that can outsmoke me! I don’t do a lot of smoking anymore.

"I’ve switched over to a vaporizer because it’s better on my lungs."

Snoop once even claimed that the late Queen came to his rescue after he was denied entry to the UK.

An unlikely fan of the rapper, I think it's safe to say the late monarch allegedly got involved when Snoop was struggling to get into the country.

Earlier last year, Snoop sat down with DJ Whoo Kid to talk about a time in the mid-90s when he was supposedly ‘banned’ from the UK by citizens concerned by his ongoing murder trial, having been charged with first-degree murder in 1993 for the shooting of Philip Woldermariam, a member of a rival gang – only to be acquitted three years later.

Recalling the reaction he faced, Snoop told Whoo Kid: "They kicked me out, the UK!"

The rapper went on: “But guess who came to my defence?”

Snoop claimed Queen Elizabeth got involved when he was kicked out of the UK.

After Whoo Kidd incorrectly guessed the 'Prime Minister', Snoop replied: "The Queen, n***a. The queen said, 'This man has done nothing in our country. He can come'. The queen, n***a, bow down. When the queen speak, bow down."

It should be noted that Snoop was taking a big old toke when he was retelling this tall tale.

So, 'a pinch of salt' and all that.
