NFL legend Rob Gronkowski says there’s too much focus on Taylor Swift at the moment

He's called on the sport to either make her sing at games or get back to football.

Rob Gronkowski has added his name to the growing list of people who want the NFL to focus more on football.

The sport has been whipped into a frenzy over the past few weeks and it's not because Usher was announced as the Super Bowl headliner for next year.

It's because of another person in the music industry taking a keen interest in football: Taylor Swift.

Ever since she started dating Travis Kelce and attending some of his games, there has been a lot of attention on her.

Cameras love to pan to the 33-year-old any time anything happens or when there is a break in play.

It has resulted in a lot of diehard football fans getting annoyed because they want the commentary to go back to the reason why they're all there.

The former New England Patriots tight end told FanDuel TV’s Up & Adams: "Bye bye bye, it’s just a little bit too much...but we want more football.

"Yes, it's fine that you show her but not every single play."

He says the NFL should at least get her to perform a song at one of the games considering how much they are 'hyping her up'.

Gronk would rather see the cameras focusing on the players' celebrations instead of whatever Swift is doing.

Kelly Clarkson was an unlikely supporter of Gronk's position when she also called for the NFL to go back to football.

Clarkson said on her show: “It’s not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now.

“It’s like you’re watching Housewives while you’re watching.”

“They’re just talking about gossip things and you’re like, ‘So, what about the play?’”

Many thought she was attacking the blossoming romance between Swift and Kelce.

However, she had to issue a statement after probably copping a lot of heat from Swifties around the world.

She posted a message on Instagram where she said she is very pro-love and pro-football, just in separate arenas.

“Just a quick public service announcement everybody since this seems to be breaking news,” she said.

“Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again.

"I did not bash anyone’s romance. I am pro romance. Yay romance.”

“Did y’all even watch what I actually said on my show? I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request. Okay, carry on, and GO COWBOYS!”
