Post Malone has denied rumours that he uses hard drugs as he opens up about his life as a dad.

The rapper and singer, 28, welcomed a daughter in 2022 with his fiancee, who he hasn’t identified publicly.

Ahead of the release of his new album on Friday, Post Malone - whose real name is Austin Richard Post - sat down for an in-depth interview with Zane Lowe For Apple Music.

“Having a baby really put a lot into perspective, and it’s really slowed me down a lot, party-wise, going out and being crazy. But it’s the most beautiful thing and, I don’t know,” he told host Zane Lowe about being a dad.

He also addressed concerns about drug use amid fan speculation about his weight loss and performances on stage. “I mean, first off, I shouldn’t have to really justify anything to anyone, but I appreciate the concerns that people," he said.

"But then it just goes… It goes from like, Hey, I hope he’s fine. But then the rumour starts that I’m doing hard drugs, which I’ve never done in my entire life.”

Fans of the ‘Circles’ singer have previously expressed concerns about the star’s health, despite the musician already addressing the rumours by stating that he doesn’t use drugs.

In a social media post shared in April, the ‘Rockstar’ rapper said: "I wanted to say that I’m not doing drugs. I’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and I’d suppose, performance on stage. I’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier," he wrote at the time.

"I guess dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda, and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel.

"Next up is smokes and brews, but I like to consider myself a patient man.”

Post Malone admitted to Lowe that he did used to take a lot of hallucinogenic mushrooms but he stopped because they started to affect his short term memory.

"Maybe it was just a stint of habitual overuse. Daily," he mused.

In the interview, Post also discussed his relationship with alcohol, which is in a 'good spot' at the moment.

"I have a very hard time expressing myself via recording if I'm not a little f**ked up," he shared.

"It's a good spot now because if I'm not recording or I'm not talking to people or if I'm not doing shows, I really do drink just to have fun. It's having a beer with my dad or with my bud."

Post is releasing his fifth album Austin on Friday.
