Miranda Lambert has been catching a lot of heat since she stopped a concert to call out fans for taking a selfie in the audience.

The country singer was performing in Las Vegas this week when the awkward confrontation took place.

In a now-viral video posted to TikTok, Lambert can be seen pausing a few lines into her song 'Tin Man' and addressing the crowd.

"I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry," the 39-year-old singer said to her pianist. "These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song.

"It’s p*ssing me off a little bit. Sorry, I don’t like it. At all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music."

Whilst most fans applauded her at the time, some walked out of the concert in response.

And it seems that the divided response is continuing online, with the 39-year-old attracting even more criticism after posting the first time since the incident.

Taking to Instagram, the 'Mama's Broken Heart' singer posed in a shirt promoting the spaying and neutering of pets.

In the caption, she wrote: "It takes balls...to spay and neuter your pets! To learn why it's important and y'all can get shirts at the link in my bio."

Miranda Lambert shared this image to Instagram days after going viral for telling off fans at a concert.

However, her comments section was flooded with criticism from fans who weren't happy about her statement at the recent concert.

One commented: "How about you neuter your nasty attitude towards your fans?"

Another remarked: "Unfollowing for the way you disrespect and humiliate your fans. It takes balls not to apologize or see a problem with your actions," whilst a fellow critic said: "It doesn't cost a damn thing to have class. You showed just how much you lack. Disappointed."

Building on the theme of 'balls', another fan wrote: "It takes balls to make this your first post since HUMILIATING your fans at your own concert."

And another ranted: "Unfollowing…. Fans go above and beyond to pay crazy amounts to see you perform. And you embarrass them for wanting to record that moment. I thought you were better than that Miranda!!!"

So needless to say, a lot of fans were really ticked off.

The country singer divided opinion when she called out fans at her concert.

Lambert is currently in Las Vegas for her residency, Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency at Planet Hollywood.

According to Billboard, the residency began in 2022 and will run 'through the end of 2023'.

Lambert told the outlet she took inspiration from the residencies of Brooks & Dunn, Shania Twain and George Strait when designing her set.

Lambert said: "What I learned from those shows alone was that you’re in Vegas because you built a catalog, so play the songs that people know and love from you.

"That’s really what I’m sticking with. Sometimes on the road or with new record cycles, we get all wrapped up in our new songs, but there’s a certain amount of trust the fans put in this catalog."
