Lil Nas X speaks out after sparking backlash for his ‘disgusting’ Halloween outfit

Fans are not happy with the rapper's bloody tampon costume.

Lil Nas X has gone all out for Halloween and donned not one, not two, not three but four separate looks for Halloween.

The singer and rapper's first costume was a lacey, white wedding-looking dress, with shin-high boots, pearls and a beautiful feather headdress.

The second was portraying the rock and roll legend Little Richard and Lil Nas uploaded a video lip syncing to a moment from the singer's life.

The third was actually going as himself from a red carpet look, however he ironically dialled down the quality to hammer home the joke.

But it was his fourth and final look that has been getting all the attention on social media.

He posted a clip of him walking down the street dressed as a bloody tampon and fans were not happy in the slightest.

One person said: "I’m sorry Nas but this is a flop a** costume. I expected more."

Another added: "Gay men need to stop thinking that they're 'one of the girls' and get a free pass for misogyny and mocking women's bodies."

A third wrote: "First the fake pregnancies & now this ?? Can men stay out of our f**king business & stop joking about things that are insanely painful for women."

A fourth commented: "How do you think women feel about such a vulgar mockery of their menstruation cycles? This is very distasteful…but expected from you."

Others called it 'disgusting' that he would use a natural part of a woman's reproductive cycle as a costume.

However, he's hit back at all the hubbub.

He told his fans: "I been silent for nearly 2 years y’all are not finna pretend to be mad about a tampon costume. Let me at least get new music out first."

But Lil Nas had a few people in his corner saying people need to stop being so sensitive.

A fan said: "Redirect that anger if y'all such activist. Are yall fighting against the pink tax? Do you donate tampons to unhoused? Do you donate tampons and pads to prisoners? Do y'all do anything? If not, let this n***a b. G-d d*MN."

Another added: "Y’all mad that he’s an object… my periods are heII and I laughed at this and didn’t see anything wrong until I opened the comment section. Bye."
