Justin Bieber's team has spoken out on the 'stories' about the singer allegedly ending up in debt following his cancellation of his world tour and why he won't be 'deterred'.

In September 2022, Justin Bieber announced the cancellation of his world tour after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome earlier in the year.

The 'Beauty and a Beat' singer took to Instagram to explain he 'wasn't able to complete the North American leg' of his Justice World Tour and because of how much he was struggling with his health, on the advice of doctors, family and the rest of his team, he'd been forced to cancel.

The following year, the singer revealed he was also having to cancel his tour dates for Europe, Australia and the US and a Hollywood Reporter article published yesterday (April 16) cites sources claiming Bieber has been left in large amounts of debt as a result.

The Hollywood Reporter article claims Bieber's cancellation of his world tour resulted in over 100 crew members being laid off.

The outlet further alleges that Bieber received a $40 million advance from the tour's promoter and that in not completing the tour dates, he didn't fulfil the contract and owed the promoter a 'large debt'.

'Insider sources' allegedly claimed that the 'large debt' over $20 million was reportedly covered as a loan from Bieber's manager at the time, with Bieber supposedly not having paid it all back yet.

The 31-year-old's team told the outlet: "Any source that is trying to sell you a story about alleged financial distress … either doesn’t understand the entertainment industry or, more likely, is trying to paint an unflattering portrait of Justin, which bears no resemblance to reality."

And his team has since released an additional statement to US Weekly reading: "This is just clickbait stupidity based on unnamed — and clearly ill-informed — ‘sources,’ disappointed that they no longer work with Justin.

"As Justin forges his own way forward, these unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions will continue. But they won’t deter him from staying committed to following the right path."

Bieber has previously opened up about his managing of his condition, sharing vulnerable footage to social media giving fans an insight into the syndrome.

Ramsay Hunt syndrome 'or herpes zoster oticus, occurs when the varicella-zoster virus (shingles) reactivates and spreads to the facial nerves near your inner ear,' Cleveland Clinic explains.

It continues: "It may cause weakness or stiffness on one side of your face, based on which branch of the facial nerve is affected. This may make it difficult to close your eye. It may also make it hard to wrinkle your forehead or make facial expressions such as smiles or frowns.

"It may also cause drooping and/or paralysis on one side of your face. This can cause slurred speech and it may make it difficult to eat."

When announcing the cancellation of his tour, Bieber reflected on the 'exhaustion' he'd been feeling and needing to make his 'health the priority'.

A video he shared showed how 'pretty serious' the condition is, revealing the extent of his facial paralysis.

He added: "I wish this wasn’t the case, but obviously, my body’s telling me that I gotta slow down. I hope you guys understand and I’ll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100 percent so that I can do what I was born to do.

"I’m gonna get better and I’m doing all these facial exercises to get my face back to normal and it will go back to normal, it’s just time and we don’t know much time it’s gonna be."

UNILAD has contacted Bieber's representatives and The Hollywood Reporter for comment.
