Playboy model Joy Corrigan admits she’s been lying about her age for decades

Joy Corrigan has opened up about why she's kept her age a 'secret' for all these years.

Model Joy Corrigan has opened up about her real age and why she's not been honest about it before.

Corrigan - full name Joy Elizabeth Corrigan - was first scouted at the age of just 14 years old. The model has since gone on to become a Playboy Playmate, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and Victoria's Secret model.

However, as she strutted her stuff in the limelight, one thing she kept in the dark was her actual age, the model since taking to social media to open up about her 'secret'.

As well as a career in modelling, Corrigan has featured in several movies, appearing alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Aftermath and 2022 series Super Pumped.

Corrigan also has her own clothing brand shared with her sister called Naked Species.

So you'd think Corrigan's illustrious career would make it difficult to hide her age, however, she's always maintained she's younger than she is, stating she was born in 1995 and is 28 just this summer, according to Mail Online.

The model recently sat down with podcast Heal Squad to discuss 'The Power of Self Acceptance' and the message seemingly hit home for Corrigan, who later took to social media to open up about her true age.

In a post to Instagram yesterday (Friday, 27 October), Corrigan revealed she's been carrying the 'secret' of her real age 'for years'.

The post reads: "I’m 35 years young. I’ve been told to lie about my age for years by past agents and people in the industry.

"For years I was ashamed of my age. I had this fear of clients finding out my age and canceling jobs even though I fit the look. I was shooting prom dresses in my 30s and nobody knew.

"For years, I had to conceal my true identity, even from friends, out of fear they might reveal my secret to others in the industry. I had to be someone else in order to work. I was forced to dull my knowledge, experience and light in order to fit this role.

"Today, at 35, I’ve never felt better, younger, or more alive. Here is my truth. My life is just beginning."

And fans of the model have flooded to the post in support of her revelation.

One Instagram user said: "That’s actually the biggest flex tho."

"Your authenticity is your superpower and I’m so f**king proud of you! I love you and you will always look young because you’re young at heart. Eternal child activated! I’m so proud of you!" another commented.

And a third wrote: "Thank you for calling the world out. age is just a number! You are a wonderful person & an amazing example of embracing the truth.

"You inspire us all to be better hugs!"
