Jennifer Lawrence has been praised for her candid admission about rehoming her dog.
The actor had been taking questions when someone asked her about dogs, prompting a candid answer from the Hunger Games star.
Responding to the question, Lawrence said she was 'really uncomfortable' answering it, and the dog was 'no longer with us'.
Realising how that sounded, she quickly clarified that the dog was 'alive', to relieved laughter from the audience.

But while the dog is still alive, Lawrence explained that she had made the decision to re-home her dog by sending it to live with her parents.
This happened after a very unfortunate incident which led Lawrence to have a distrust of dogs, meaning that she made the difficult decision to re-home the dog.

"She did not like New York, and I lived on 1st and 67th just to be near the park like, for her," said Lawrence.

Explaining the difficult decision, she said: "After I had a kid dogs became so scary, like my son's going up to it.
"It's almost like I don't recognise dogs right now, like I just see them as a threat, and one of them bit my son and that made me just want to obliterate every dog."
Lawrence's candid admission about the decision led to her being praised on social media for making a choice that was emotionally tough, but ultimately the right one both for her, her child, and her dog Princess Pippi Longstocking - yes, really.
Taking to social media, one person wrote: "Seems she was a responsible pet owner and mother and did what was best for everyone in the situation?"

Another said it seemed to be a good arrangement, writing: "Seems like a rational decision after her son was bitten by a dog. And the dog lives with her parents so she can see her whenever."
Someone else said that they thought this situation was more common than people realise.
"Unfortunately I was in this situation myself recently and it’s absolutely heartbreaking," they wrote. "I think it’s a lot more common than people want to talk about."

Meanwhile, one person took a nuanced view, writing: "I’ve never heard of anyone who has had a dog admit to becoming disillusioned by them.
"She’s not the first person to rehome a pet because they had a kid. It was just a little startling to hear the logic explicitly and frankly said. But hey, it is understandable."
They added: "I’m really glad the dog went to a properly vetted new home (JLaw’s parents)."
