One of Jennette McCurdy's videos has gone viral, and the reason why is quite amusing.

McCurdy first shot to fame on kids TV shows like iCarly and Sam & Cat, and has since become an author.

In 2022, she released her debut memoir, I'm Glad My Mom Died and recently celebrated the book being a New York Times best seller for a whopping 80 weeks.

To mark the occasion, McCurdy shared a TikTok video of her sat in front of a large light up '80' while holding a huge confetti cannon.

"Thank you for making [I'm Glad My Mom Died] a nyt bestseller for 80 weeks," she captioned the video. "And still the #1 audiobook."

"I'm celebrating," McCurdy added.

In the video itself, the 31-year-old actress is seen visibly struggling to pop the cannon.

Eventually she does so and lets out an all mighty scream in the process, quickly covering her ears afterwards.

"My heart is racing," McCurdy goes on, before labelling the ordeal as 'the scariest thing I've ever experienced'.

The video was posted only two days ago and has already amassed over 28 million views - and people have predicted that it's likely to become a meme.

"New meme made," one person laughed on X.

"The scream sis had world war level flashbacks," quipped another.

A third went on: "Are you kidding she’s so funny."

Another person questioned: "Why did she scream so much though."

Meanwhile, others related to her rather dramatic reaction to the bang.

"This is how dramatic I am about opening a tube of biscuits," said one empathizer.

"Me when I open pillsbury cinnamon rolls," wrote a second.

While McCurdy became a household name by starring on popular Nickelodeon shows, she wants to leave that part of her life in the past.

In fact, McCurdy has gone as far as saying she's ashamed to have been on the likes of iCarly and Sam & Cat - something that she addresses in her memoir.

"These show titles, my ears burn when I'm saying them," she said on her Hard Feelings podcast. "I have so much shame around having been a part of them. And anybody who has read my book I know understands."

McCurdy continued to say: "To have been known for so long for something that I did when I was 13 was very shameful for me.

"My body tightens just saying [the titles of the shows]."

The 31-year-old then went on to praise her best-selling book as helping her to 'be supported for me, not for a character'.
