Jada Pinkett Smith reveals she and Will are 'staying together forever'

Her comments follow her bombshell interview on the TODAY show.

Jada Pinkett Smith says she and Will are now ‘staying together forever’ after a period of separation.

In her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Jada discussed her memoir Worthy.

The actor touched on her relationship with Will after making bombshell remarks that the two had been separated for seven years.

"I feel like maybe your and his shadow separated in a way in this book, whether they stay together forever or not. It sounds like you're staying together forever,” Drew said to Jada.

Jada replied: "We're staying together forever.

"I tried. We tried."

While appearing on TODAY earlier this month, Jada told host Hoda Kobt that she and Will are still together; however, they’ve lived separately for more than half a decade.

"I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. And I just haven't been able to break that promise," Jada said.

When asked why she had maintained this unique arrangement, Jada said: "I think just not being ready yet.

"Still trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in a partnership, and in regards to how do we present that to people, you know?”

"And we hadn't figured that out."

Since then, the 52-year-old has been doing major damage control.

Following her interview on TODAY, Jada returned to the show to clarify her comments.

While speaking again to Hoda, the Red Table Talk host said that people had ‘missed’ the point in her previous interview.

She said that she and Will are no longer going their separate ways.

“We are working very hard at bringing our relationship, yes, bringing our relationship back together... back to a life partnership, yes,” she told Hoda.

“Husband-wife marriage for me, for my healing process. I came into that with very specific ideas, right? Very specific ideas that were blocks. To me just seeing Will to who he is. He can’t be this perfect idealised husband.

“I have to be able to accept him for the human he is. He accepts me for the human that I am, and we want to love each other there. We really have been working hard.”
