After Daniel Craig stepped down as James Bond, fans have been pushing for their favorite actors to take up the mantle, but Henry Cavill hinted the role might not be for him.

It goes without saying that Henry Cavill is brilliantly, fun actor and for millions across the world he will always be Superman - even if the films featuring the Man of Steel weren’t that great.

However, many fans have long said Henry Cavill would make a brilliant James Bond.

These calls were intensified significantly after he showcased his ability to be a great spy opposite Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Fallout.

His long term fans began to scream even louder as they had been proclaiming he was a great fit since of his role in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

While there has been a lot of talk and rumors suggesting Aaron Taylor-Johnson could play the iconic British spy, Cavil’s next film sees him in a role of the real-life man who supposedly inspired the character.

Cavill’s next role is Gus March-Phillipps in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, who founded the British Army’s No. 62 Commando.

Speaking about the upcoming film on The Rich Eisen Show, Cavill adressed the ongoing calls for him to be the next Bond.

“I have no idea. All I have to go off of is the rumors. I have the same information you have,” Cavill said of his future as 007.

“Maybe I’m too old now or maybe I’m not. We’ll see what the [producers] plans are.”

That said, a fan trailer that splices in AI generated images and clips from other movies featuring Cavill has begun circulating on social media.

While the trailer is certainly rough around the edges, many have remarked that it is all the convincing they need to believe Cavill be great as the ‘shaken, not stirred’ agent.

“Henry Cavill bloody well owns the role! He is perfect! Powerful sexy and ultra classy. Shaken not stirred needs that man!!!!! Bond on steroids,” one excited fan wrote.

“Can someone please start a petition to make Henry the next James Bond? I have nothing against Aaron Taylor but will all know Henry was the best fit for this,” another wrote.

“YES YES YES! Henry Cavill could be the next James Bond. Watch 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' Henry will be a great Bond, James Bond,” a third wrote.

“Henry Cavill .....born for this role,” a final user simply put.

So, while it may be unlikely we will ever see Cavill suit up for MI6, a fan can dream.
