Inspector Paul Krawczyk of Toronto Police's Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force said in a press conference: "That person was working apparently as a security guard at the residence. He was standing outside the gates in front of the residence when the shooting occurred."

It remains unclear who is behind the shooting.

"We have individuals who obviously performed the shooting, who were seen in a vehicle," Krawczyk continued, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

"I do not have a description of the vehicle or the suspects at this time. Again, it’s very early on in the investigation. A tweet by the police said the unnamed man was left with 'serious injuries' and, as of an hour ago, he remains in hospital."

It isn't confirmed if Drake was at home at the time of the incident.

The shooting comes amid the rapper's ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar.

The two music stars have been releasing diss tracks about each other on an almost-daily basis.

For Lamar's 'Not Like Us' cover art, it appears to show an image of Drake's Toronto home on Google Maps.

The snapshot correlates with police reports of the shooting taking place near Park Lane Circle.
