Victoria Beckham seen in public for first time since son Brooklyn’s explosive online attack

David Beckham appeared to respond to Brooklyn's comments last week

Victoria Beckham has been spotted in public for the first time since son Brooklyn released an explosive statement slamming his parents.

While her family may be in crisis, the former Spice Girl took time out to celebrate bandmate Emma Bunton's birthday at Soho Farmhouse in the English countryside over the weekend.

Victoria was also joined by fellow bandmates Melanie Chisholm and Geri Horner, and shared a photo on Instagram to mark the occasion.

In the post, the 51-year-old wished Bunton a happy birthday, while also describing her as a 'beautiful soul'. She also heaped praise on Chisholm and Horner by stating: "I love you girls so much."

The Spice Girls stars kept it smart for the special occasion, with Victoria donning a brown suit for the birthday bash.

It comes amid huge turbulence with the Beckhams, as Brooklyn took aim at his parents in an explosive Instagram post on January 19.

The eldest child of David and Victoria took to social media to claim he'd 'been silent for years' and made every effort to keep the family feud 'private'.

Part of Brooklyn's statement said: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.

"Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."

It continued: "I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.

"The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out."

Following Brooklyn's explosive post, David sat down CNBC's Squawk Box program and spoke about how his kids are ‘allowed to make mistakes’.

He said: "I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media... for the good and for the bad. What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous.

"And I have tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.

"They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids.

"You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well."
