The former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi Glanville, has shared her thoughts on what she thinks caused her facial transformation and led her to lose five teeth and $200,000, significantly impacting her mental health.

The reality TV star got candid about her terrifying experience with what she previously described as a facial 'parasite' last year, sharing pictures of her disfigurement to show how the illness had affected her.

During a recent appearance on the I Do, Part 2 podcast, Glanville opened up on struggling with her body image since she started noticing the drastic changes in her appearance.

After seeing doctors and paying them out of pocket for about $200,000, the reality TV celebrity finally came to a theory on what was wrong with her health.

After her mammograms were clear, a sonogram showed that her 20-year-old breast implants had ruptured, causing 'leaks' of silicone 'in both my lymph nodes'.

This led the Bravo star to deal with several health problems, as well as facing a dip in her mental health.

“I haven’t had sex in three years, the whole time I’ve been sick, because I lost my confidence," she said on the podcast.

“I feel like I lost everything at once. I lost my job. I lost my reputation. I lost my looks.”

Glanville noted that during her 'dark times', she 'isolated' herself from everyone other than her sons, Jake, 22, and 18-year-old Mason, who she shares with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian.

She added: “I’m still working on my confidence. It’s just a lot of — it seems silly — but as women, when you look good, you feel good."

Glanville saw a total of 21 doctors and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to work out what was making her sick.

"The [implants] were making me sick," she finally said.

“I went to 21 doctors. I’m telling you, [it cost] $200,000. I had insurance but the people at my insurance... let’s just say, sucks.

"I was paying out of pocket to see specialists, infectious disease doctors, rheumatologists. Every doctor you can think of, I saw.

“It came on overnight. I have weird lumps in my neck. … I still have them. I can’t explain the brain fog. The fatigue.”

Now, Glanville had opted to have her implants removed and is doing much better.

“I’m two weeks out right now, but the first week, I was, like, up. I was actually doing too much because I was so excited to be moving," she said.
