AC/DC set new tour rules following Taylor Momsen getting rabies shots after being bitten by a bat onstage

The crew behind AC/DC’s tour have made light of Taylor Momsen getting bitten by a bat by ushering in new legislation.

The Gossip Girl actor has been opening for AC/DC on their Power Up tour.

Last week, the 30-year-old singer headed to Spain with her band The Pretty Reckless and began to sing a fan-favorite track called ‘Witches Burn’.

However, during the raucous rendition, the audience began screaming as a real-life bat had landed on the vocalist’s leg.

Following the incident, Momsen confirmed that in a 'rock and roll moment' the bat had proceeded to bite her on stage.

“In Sevilla Wednesday during ‘Witches Burn’ of all songs… a BAT flew onto me and clung to my leg…in the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing,” she wrote on Instagram.

She continued to say that while the flying mammal was cute, it had bitten her and she’d been taken to hospital after the gig.

“Rabies shots for the next two weeks thanks to all the staff at the hospital who dubbed me #batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning…more footage to come…that’s one for the books!!!!"

Following the incident, the crew working on the Power Up tour implemented a new rule - no bats allowed.

Momsen revealed the directive to her two million social media followers earlier this week - posting a picture of a hand-drawn bat beneath a stop sign.

Alongside the picture, she wrote: “Ok… so @acdc has the best crew ever. Love you guys!!!”

The singer, who needs ten rabies shots in total, has also revealed she’d been gifted a small rubber bat in jest.

Following the updates, fans have flocked to the star’s Instagram Feed to have their say.

One user wrote: “Very unique start to the tour. Right off the bat, huh?”

A second likened her to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, while another said: “Hope you're doing well! It was crazy that happened but kinda iconic of you.”

“Bat must be your spirit animal,” claimed a fellow fan. “There's defo something spiritual afoot to have had that happen. It's too unnerving & bizarre. There has to be some message.”

“Ozzy would be proud,” commented a fifth.

The latter comment is a reference to Ozzy Osbourne’s infamous Iowa show where he bit the head off of a bat.

In January 1982, he and his band were performing as part of the 75-year-old’s Madman tour.

During the shows, it became a ritual for fans to throw weird and wonderful things on stage - including a live bat.

Mistaking the animal for a rubber toy, Ozzy proceeded to bite the head off in front of the horrified crowd.

Later, he said: “I’ll tell you what guys, it ain’t fun when you get them rabies shots.”
