People are only just realizing Miley Cyrus' real name.
If you didn't realize that Miley once had a different name, you wouldn't be the only one.
Most people are unaware, but the singer actually changed her name when she was a teenager.

In fact, Miley hated her true moniker, and explained that she decided to legally change it at 16.
A clip from a 2008 interview shows the Flowers singer talking to Entertainment Tonight about legally changing her name.
ET were backstage with Miley during one of her concerts when the interviewer asked her what she had legally changed her name to, to which the Hannah Montana star replied: "Miley. What I've always been called, yeah."

The star then made a vomiting gesture before revealing her true name was Destiny Hope Cyrus.
She joked: "Never again, it doesn't technically legally count!"

The video shocked heaps of fans who were surprised that the singer once went by a different name.

One viewer commented: "I am 21 years old and I am finally learning that Miley Cyrus's name isn't Miley Cyrus."
Another added: "I never knew this."
"Why am I just finding this out." commented another.
A fourth viewer exclaimed: "WHAT I NEVER KNEW HER FIRST NAME IS NOT MILEY".

And a fifth simply said: "BRO WHAT."
In the clip, Cyrus also revealed that her middle name was Ray 'just like her dad'.
But fast-forward 16 years and following Cyrus' appearance at the Grammys this month, many fans think there could be a rift between the actor and her dad.

Having made history in her career by collecting her first Grammy, Miley used the opportunity not only to praise her fellow artists, but also to give a shoutout to the people who had helped to get her there.
She said: "This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn't change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.
"So please don't think that this is important, even though it's very important, right guys?"
Miley then thanked her mom and her sister during the speech, before adding: "I don't think I forgot anyone - but I might've forgotten underwear. Bye!"
