Although it might not sound very groundbreaking - I can assure you it is - Lizzo has somehow managed to twerk and play a 200-year-old crystal flute at the same time.

No but seriously, the American rapper has become the first person in history to play the instrument, which was previously owned by a man named James Madison, the 4th President of the United States.

Watch below as Lizzo rocks the old flute live in-concert:

As she gets ahold of the age-old instrument, the singer explains: "This is crazy. I have to be really careful.

"This is from the early 1800s, this was a gift to James Madison from a French crystal flute designer to celebrate his second term.

"There was a fire… and the only two things that were saved were a portrait of George Washington and this crystal flute right here.

"I am the first person to ever play it, so you’re about to hear what it sounds like for the first time.

"Thank you to the Library of Congress for preserving our history and making history cool. History is freaking cool, you guys!"

Lizzo well and truly rocked the 200-year-old crystal flute.

She then ecstatically tells the screaming crowd: "B***h, I just twerked and played James Madison's flute from the 1800s!"

Lizzo also shared the clip on her Insta, captioning it in caps: "YALL.. THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS LET ME PLAY THEIR HISTORIC 200 YEAR OLD CRYSTAL FLUTE ON STAGE TONIGHT.

"YALL WE GOT A BETTER VIDEO — YEAH IM DOUBLE POSTING BUT IM THE FIRST & ONLY PERSON TO PLAY THIS PRESIDENTIAL CRYSTAL FLUTE ITS LITERALLY AN HEIRLOOM — LIKE… AS A FLUTE PLAYER THIS IS ICONIC AND I WILL NEVER BE OVER IT."

One fan commented: "So precious how you hold and venerate the crystal flute! Only a true musician like Lizzo would fangirl over an instrument."

Another joked: "This blows Sandra Bullocks Miss Congeniality’s wine trick out of the water!"

"B***h, I just twerked and played James Madison's flute from the 1800s!"

"A BLACK WOMAN BEST BE THE FIRST TO PLAY THAT DAMN PRESIDENTIAL FLUTE!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!" a third fan commented.

A fourth added: "You may go down in history to be the only person to EVER play this flute!"

Someone else said: "Girl, I’ve never been more proud to say I played the flute. You make playing the flute look easy & sexy!"
