Kathy Griffin has used her dead mother's Twitter account to keep posting after she was booted from the platform.

The comedian tried to impersonate Elon Musk by changing her main Twitter page's name.

She the issued a political statement to make it seem like it was the tech billionaire rallying for people to vote for the Democrats at the midterm elections.

"After much spirited discussion with the females in my life, I’ve decided that voting blue for their choice is only right. (They’re also sexy females, btw.) #VoteBlueToProtectWomen," Griffin said in the now-deleted tweet.

It wasn't long before her account was suspended by the Twitter overlords.

However, Kathy clearly isn't taking her forced social media hiatus lying down.

She wasted no time in logging into her dead mother's account to rally for her freedom from Twitter jail.

Griffin tweeted #FreeKathy and said her late mom wouldn't mind her using Maggie's page to rally for help.

Kathy's suspension came shortly after Elon revealed Twitter's new policy when it comes to impersonation.

"Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended," Twitter's new head honcho wrote in a series of tweets.

"Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning.

"This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue."

Musk added: "Any name change at all will cause temporary loss of verified checkmark."

Loads of people have now tried to push the limits of that rule by changing their names to Musk's and posting random and weird statements all under the guise of 'parody'.

So it will be interesting to see how long Musk's new rule stays or if it will be amped up to prevent people taking the p**s out of other individuals.

The tech billionaire joked that Griffin didn't lose her account because she impersonated him by writing: "She was suspended for impersonating a comedian."

But Kathy did not find the funny side to that comment.

"I mean… you stole that joke, you a**hole," she replied to Musk. "People have been posting that joke for hours, you hack. Look, please do a better job running this company. It used to mean something."

UNILAD has reached out to Griffin and Twitter for comment.
