Jonah Hill completely ignores reporter who asked if he's still 'the fat guy in Hollywood' after losing weight

The actor made clear he was unimpressed with the question

Jonah Hill made clear he had absolutely no interest in entertaining a reporter who questioned him about his weight loss by asking if he was still 'the fat guy in Hollywood'.

The Superbad star proved a good role model for many fans when he decided to embark on a healthier lifestyle, but as a talented actor and filmmaker, he's a lot more than just his appearance.

Still, reporters were naturally keen to ask him about his transformation after Hill lost weight, and while he was accepting of some questions, there were some that just went too far.

The interview that saw Hill completely shut down took place in 2011, when he was conducting interviews around the same time his film Moneyball was released.

There were a number of reporters in the room, and Hill was open and honest when one asked him about his inspiration for the weight loss.

He responded: "I just decided one day I wanted to be healthier, and I went and saw a nutritionist."

As a follow up question, another reporter asked Hill whether he was 'still considered the fat guy' in certain situations, like at parties.

While the question made some in the room laugh, Hill was clearly not impressed.

The reporter attempted to justify their question with personal experience, saying: "I run into that a whole lot. I'm the fat one. So are you the fat guy in Hollywood still or does everyone like look at you and they're like 'oh this is great, now you're healthy'?"

Hill considered the question for a moment, before deciding to ignore it completely and move on, roasting the reporter as he did so.

"Do you have any other questions? That are smart?," he said.

Hill has stressed to his followers that he's not interested in people commenting on his looks, no matter what kind of opinion they may be sharing.

In 2021, he shared a post reading: "I know you mean well, but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body.

“Good or bad, I want you to politely let you know it’s not helpful and doesn’t feel good. Much respect.”

Hill has been praised for the way he responded to the reporter, with one viewer noting he could have very easily reacted 'so much worse', but adding: "the way he did it was just perfect."

"Jonah Hill proving he has the patience of a saint," another fan said.

Hill has most recently appeared in the Netflix film You People.
