John Mayer says he likes to play the guitar naked after sex and stare at his partner
The singer said it creates a 'very memorable' moment
John Mayer has revealed he likes to play guitar in the nude after sex - saying it’s ‘very memorable’. Fair enough.
The 45-year-old, who has dated a string of A list celebrities over the years, opened up about his unusual post-sex routine on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week.
Host Alex Cooper asked the singer if he played guitar before having sex with someone, to which he replied: “No, I do it after sometime.
“No, you should never play guitar to have sex with someone, but a little naked guitar playing after is very memorable.”

I’m not sure if he means memorable for him or the other person, but here we are.
Revealing more details than one could ever wish to know, he continued: “With a little gut hanging over, sitting Indian-style on the edge of the bed. It’s nice! … I like seeing the way people fold up all weird when they sit up. No matter who you are, you look weird when you sit up. And it’s cute.”
But it seems his cross-legged naked guitar sessions may be a thing of the past, as Mayer also revealed that he doesn’t really date anymore.
"Dating is no longer a codified activity for me, it doesn't exist in a kind of… it's not patterned anymore," he said. "I don't really date - I don't think that I have to, to be quite honest. I quit drinking like six years ago, so I don't have the liquid courage. I just have dry courage.
"You have to be honest. You have to express yourself - you have to be glaringly honest… You have to express your anxieties - you can't just walk over them by drinking."
Mayer quit drinking after attending Drake’s 30th birthday in October 2016, where he ‘made quite a fool’ of himself.
Speaking to Complex in 2018, he said he decided to quit drinking after he ‘went deep one night’.
He went on: “I remember being like, ‘What happens if I keep going? I always stop here. What if I keep going?’ It was really kind of, oddly, a playful kind of thing … It was Drake‘s 30th birthday party, and I made quite a fool of myself. It took me weeks to stop doing this [makes face] every morning I woke up.”
As well as cringing over his actions - which he later revealed be not as bad as he though - Mayer said he had a six day hangover after the bash.
That’s enough to make anyone stop, isn’t it?
