Jennifer Coolidge admits her 'immaturity' stopped her from having children

The White Lotus actor said she would make a better stepmother and has never considered adoption.

Jennifer Coolidge has admitted her own 'immaturity' has stopped her from having children and starting a family.

The 61-year-old is enjoying somewhat of a career high and that is partly due to her recent staring role in The White Lotus.

Playing Tanya McQuoid, Coolidge's character is the only main character from the first season of the series to make a return.

In an interview with British GQ, Coolidge has been discussing her role in The White Lotus alongside other films and series she has done, plus she opened up on why she doesn't have any children.

The actor said she believes she would make a better stepmother, adding her eagerness to remain young at heart has also been a deciding factor when it comes to having children.

"I’m very, very immature, I think that has kept me from having children, because I’m sort of a child," she told the publication.

"Maybe if I had kids, I would’ve had to have grown up."

She then added: "I’ve never had, like, a laid-back boyfriend that was just full of joy, you know?

"Like, someone who laughs at all your shortcomings. That’s never who I choose for myself."

Coolidge has never shied away from talking about her sex and love life, and has often been praised for speaking so openly about this.

In an interview earlier this year, she spoke about viewing herself in a negative light as she's 'never found' the love of her life.

She told Page Six: "My dating life, I’ve never found anyone quite right for myself. I haven’t found the love of my life.

"I think I made some bad decisions. It makes you insecure and you don’t think you’re great.

"My weakness in life has always been men, and — a lot of women do this — you sell out for a guy. A lot of my life was chasing unattainable men, and it got me nowhere."

Coolidge's struggles nearly resulted in her actually not taking The White Lotus gig, which would have made the show very different.

In the recent sit-down with British GQ, the actor recalled the moment she got the call.

"I was, like, not in the mood.I was depressed, I was very depressed," she told the publication.

But as we all know, Coolidge took The White Lotus role and has never looked back.
