It appears Jenna Ortega started preparing for her role as Wednesday Addams from a young age, as she admitted she used to 'perform autopsies on little animals'.

The 20-year-old scream queen is front and centre of Netflix's new series Wednesday, which is set to drop later today (November 23).

It's only fitting that it releases on a Wednesday.

Ahead of Tim Burton's highly anticipated show, Jenna spoke with Wired to answer some of the internet's most searched for questions about herself.

Little did we realise we'd be getting a rather dark insight into the psyche of the actress.

The Jeffrey Dahmer-esque admission came up when Jenna answered the question: "Are Jenna Ortega and Maddie friends?"

For those not in the know, Jenna and Maddie Ziegler both found fame at a young age, having gone on to star in HBO's The Fallout together.

They formed a friendship off-screen, and clearly this is something the online community wants to know more about.

In response to the question, Jenna replied: "I'm assuming they're talking about the beautiful, wonderful, baby angel face Maddie Ziegler.

"And the answer is yes."

Jenna Ortega made a rather unusual admission when talking about her friendship with Maddie Ziegler.

The star continued: "She's one of my greatest friends ever, she was somebody that I instantly clicked with.

"We did a movie called The Fallout a couple of years back and I feel like Maddie and I are the same person in different fonts."

Describing Maddie as 'such a weirdo', Jenna went on to say: "I'm a weirdo in the 'used to perform autopsies on little animals when I was younger' [kind of way].

"Like little lizards that I found that were dead in my backyard."

Well, you can't deny that she fits right in with the Addams Family.

As for Maddie, Jenna said: "She's a weirdo in the sense that she breaks out into characters or movements or make faces.

"[She] always comes in at the perfect time, her comedic timing is so under appreciated.

"She makes me laugh, we have a good time. We're really weird together."

A friendship founded on weirdness is an unbreakable bond.

And it's safe to say her interview has gone down a treat with the fans, who have high hopes for Jenna's acting career moving forward.

"I seriously think Jenna will be an A-list, Oscar-nominated actress by the time the decade is over," wrote one. "She’s something special and real."

"I could literally listen to her talk for hours and not be bored," said another, while a third added, "She’s gonna make it so far, so excited for her."
