Honey Boo Boo, 16, Hits Back At People Criticising Her Relationship With 21-Year-Old Boyfriend

She said she doesn't care what 'haters' have to say about their relationship

Honey Boo Boo has defended her relationship, stating that she doesn't care what 'haters' have to say.

The reality TV star - real name Alana Thompson - is only 16, and she's been dating 21-year-old Dralin Carswell for more than a year-and-a-half.

But while she claims people have criticised the relationship for various reasons, she isn't bothered by the disapproval of others.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said: "In our relationship, the two most things that everybody is always talking about is our age gap and definitely because he's black and I’m white and we're an interracial couple.

"I don't care because, like, at the end of the day, my sister approves, his mum approves, and we're happy, so what fans got to say or what haters got to say I don't really care."

She went on to say that being in each other's company is effortless.

She said: "I like how it's never quiet when we're around each other, we're always talking about something - it's never like an awkward moment, silence or none of that. We're always just talking about something."

Honey Boo Boo found fame at an early age after appearing on reality series Toddlers & Tiaras.

Her popularity saw the family given their own show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and she now has one million followers on Instagram.

She also told Entertainment Tonight that potential weight loss surgery is 'still in the works'.

"I just wanna make sure that this is actually something I wanna do before I just go and do it," she said. "I wanna make sure that it's, like, not something that's, like, gonna kill me."

She admitted that she had 'no motivation' to diet and exercise and said the surgery could be the 'easiest way' to lose weight.

She said: "I know for a fact I could get in the gym and I know for a fact I could diet and I know for a fact I can do this to lose my weight.

"I've tried. I will say I've tried, but the one thing with me is I have no motivation. I have no motivation to just keep going to the gym every day.

"I have no motivation to keep eating healthy because, like, I'm gonna eat what I think is good. I'm not [gonna] sit there and force myself to eat no Caesar salad because I think it's healthy. No. I'm gonna eat what I think's good.

"So, I just think I don't have motivation, and I feel like the surgery would be, like, probably the easiest way to just, like, lose it fast."
