Hayley Williams stops Paramore concert to break up fight in the audience

The Paramore singer checked on how the crowd were doing and managed to break up a fight between her fans.

A Paramore concert was brought to a screeching halt as Hayley Williams took a moment to break up a fight in the audience.

Williams, 33, paused the performance to check in with the audience as it became apparent that trouble was brewing in the crowd, but luckily the Paramore frontwoman managed to defuse the situation.

She said: "Everybody ok? Ok we got a fight? Oh man, what do you guys think this is, like a Terror show?

"We're not a hardcore band bro, come on, we're gonna dance tonight, we're gonna have fun. Or we're not gonna do it."

She then zeroed in on the pair in the audience who were scrapping, asking them 'Do you want to split up?' and quipping that they'd 'got [her] up here acting like a teacher' before joking that it'd be 'detention for everyone'.

Luckily her intervention managed to calm things down and the audience cheered her on to keep singing, with Williams saying she'd 'better not have to do that again'.

With one last message to the crowd saying 'thank you for taking care of yourself and each other', she then addressed the rest of the band to say 'Where were we?' and getting the concert back on track.

People who saw the footage were impressed with the way the singer handled things, saying she clearly 'cares about the health of her fans' and thought she 'handled that so politely'.

Others wondered 'who the heck fights during a Paramore concert' while someone else said fighting during the show was 'just disrespectful towards the band and everyone else', claiming that it 'killed the vibe'.

Fortunately the singer was able to break up the gig.

For better or worse, keeping a close eye on the audience to make sure everything's ok often falls to the musicians themselves, having a bird's eye view of the crowd.

Avenged Sevenfold once saved a fan's life by stopping their performance after lead singer M. Shadows spotted someone in the crowd who appeared to have been 'knocked out cold'.

Stopping the gig, they called on security to go over and help while warning the crowd not to touch the injured fan as unprofessional intervention could make things worse.

Billie Eilish did something similar, pausing her performance to help a struggling fan who appeared to be struggling with asthma and calling for them to get an inhaler if they needed one.

Fights in the crowd can break out for all sorts of weird reasons, with two fans of Harry Styles recently having a bizarre battle over a drumstick which had been chucked into the audience by drummer Sarah Jones.
