Frankie Muniz makes his ‘dream’ NASCAR racing debut and performs really well

The former actor almost cracked the top 10 at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.

Frankie Muniz has made his 'dream' NASCAR racing debut and did pretty well.

The former child actor competed in the ARCA Menards at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida, officially marking the first time he’s raced with other professionals, as per TMZ.

While Muniz has been racing for quite some time, he's only recently decided to pursue stock car racing full-time, and it’s already paying off.

The 37-year-old almost cracked the top 10 at Daytona after placing 11th overall in the 80-lap race.

According to TMZ, Muniz even managed to get into the top 10 several times throughout the race.

Following the competition, he wrote: “Holy moly!!! That was the most insane thing I've ever done.

"Got up into the top three before getting turned and causing damage. Went to the back and went from 24th to 11th in the final two laps.

“I'm so grateful to my team and @hairclub and sponsors for making my dream a reality!”

In 2006, the Agent Cody Banks star competed in the Formula BMW USA Championship before moving up to race in the ChampCar Atlantic Championship from 2007 to 2009.

Muniz also made his stock car racing debut at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California, in 2022.

Last year, he sat down with Fox News Digital and revealed that he turned to racing just as his Hollywood career took off.

He said: “I kind of left the business for a little bit.

"I started doing other things. I was racing cars. I joined a band.

“I was touring all over. I opened some businesses and I got to experience so many amazing things in my life, which now at this point has made me able to reflect and look back and be so appreciative of the experience."

In July, the Malcolm in the Middle actor's career change seemed to serve him well as he told Dave Moody he was in talks to join NASCAR’s second and third divisions, according to Business Insider.

He said: “I want racing to be my focus.

"It's one of those things you have to do 100 per cent. You can't just do it halfway.

"If I want to make it to any level of NASCAR — ARCA, Trucks, whatever it is — I'm racing against people who have been doing it since they were six years old, and I've gotta do it quickly."

Look out NASCAR, it looks like we could have the next big thing on our hands.
