Whether you've only recently delved into the world of Xbox or you've been using the console since 'MW2' days, there could be a hidden feature you're unaware of.

It's easy to become complacent with your gaming console, as once you know what you're doing, it's all good. But some tech lovers have played around and managed to find an extra helpful feature.

The gaming threads on Reddit have always been one of the most active chat boards, with new updates and tips being added daily to the online community.

Reddit user Matchoo93 decided to capitalise on the popularity of these threads by offering the gaming world some sage advice.

“Double tap the share button [on the Xbox Series X] to get straight to your list of captures,” rapidly became the most popular gaming tip of one thread, which seemed to surprise even the most avid of players, with one reddit user commenting: "Damn, I didn’t know this."

While another agreed, simply adding: "Me either.”

In terms of other useful tips, BuckThundersen offered: “There's a setting to automatically mute the TV speakers after connecting a headset. That one's helpful.”

Eager to keep sharing, more users joined the conversation, with one writing: “If you search any image on Bing on your Xbox, you can go to the three dots in the corner and make it your background! Not exclusive to the Xbox Series I don’t think but still cool.”

“There's a setting where you can turn off the light on the controller's giant Xbox button. It's way less distracting now,” suggested JobuuRumdrinker.

Game_Bread also commented: “Not hidden necessarily, but there is a Night Mode option in the accessibility settings that activates a blue light filter at whatever time you set it for.

"It's great for reducing eye strain if you plan on gaming late at night.”

All in all, some great advice was shared.

The latest official update for Xbox is said to bring touch controls to remote play, a thumbstick calibration tool, new library filters to the console, and a new option to automatically sign you out of your console when you are done playing.

The headline feature for many here will be the new touch controls for Xbox remote play, which is great if you want to play games when away from your console and don't happen to have a controller to hand.

Not too shabby in terms of updates.
