Ρornhub has revealed the most searched video game characters and it's exposed a lot of people
It's that time of year again! No - not Spotify Wrapped, it's time for Pornhub's Year in Review!
It truly is the most wonderful time of year, because it reveals everything users have been searching for throughout 2023, and the results are... interesting, to say the least.
This year marks Pornhub's 10th Year in Review insights, with each instalment bringing new surprises in users' trends and searches.
Among the categories that Pornhub breaks down each year is 'Video Games & Characters', revealing in which ways the popular pastime of gaming has caused people to get hot under the collar.

Let's start with the broader category of video games, which includes some old favorites as well as few rising stars.
In 10th place was Mortal Kombat, preceded by League of Legends, Valorant, Resident Evil, Genshin Impact and Atomic Heart, which managed to make it into fifth place.
It was Pokémon that came in fourth, while Minecraft earned the title of the third most searched video game, holding on to the popular status it has maintained since 2021.
In second place we had Overwatch, which has also remained in the same place since 2021, and taking the crown we had Fortnite, also for the third year in a row.
A number of other video games, while not popular enough to make it into the top 10, also saw success this year as new titles were released or adapted for film and TV.
The Legend of Zelda shot up 26 spots as Tears of the Kingdom hit shelves, while Super Mario gained 19 spots.
Mario isn't the kind of plumber you'd think would be popular on Pornhub, but whatever floats your boat.
Red Dead Redemption and The Witcher both gained 12 spots. Geralt is a pretty steamy character, after all.
Speaking of characters, let's see what works of fiction made it into people's fantasies this year.
The most popular characters had a lot in common with the most popular video games, which makes sense, though there are a few players who proved more popular than the games themselves.
Rounding out the top 10 we have Overwatch's Mercy and Widowmaker, who were clearly popular choices, but apparently not as popular as everyone's favorite little plumber, Mario.
I guess you could say he knows his way around his pipe.
Mario was preceded by Resident Evil's Ada Wong, and just missing out on the top five was Sonic the Hedgehog, whose speed apparently isn't a problem for his Pornhub fans.
In fifth place we have another Resident Evil character Lady Dimitrescu, followed by Lara Croft from Tomb Raider in fourth.
Rounding out the top three, we have Dva from Overwatch, Tifa from Final Fantasy and Chun Li from Fortnite.
Fortnite might be well known for its battles and dances, but that's clearly not where the enjoyment stops for a lot of people.
You might never be able to look at Mario the same way again, but I guess everyone has their thing!
