Man spends $20,000 on 'ultra-realistic' costume to finally fulfil his dream

A custom-made wolf suit has been sold to a man for an eye-watering $20,000.

If you've recently had your birthday and rather than celebrating, felt like sobbing wishing you could turn back to the clock to the days where you were 10 and had a dressing up box, then fear not, because those days don't have to be behind you.

Some members of society may frown at you if, aged 30, you decide to don your Disney princess dress or Captain America suit, but one man doesn't give a two hoots what people think about getting suited and booted in a costume, spending a staggering amount on a custom-made wolf suit.

Zeppet Workshop created the wolf suit for a 'personal order' modelling it on a 'timber wolf'.

On the workshop's website, the customer explained the 'background of the order,' noting they've loved animals 'since childhood' and had seen some 'realistic animal suits on TV' which led them to dream of 'being one someday'.

And making the customer's childhood wish come true was no easy feat - it taking the customer 'several' trips to the studio to get the wolf suit just right.

"At my [...] visits to the studio for measurement and fitting, the creators gave me various suggestions," he said. "At the same time, we checked images of real wolves to discuss smallest details until we incorporated quite a lot of features in the specifications."

The customer added no suggestions seemed too difficult for the creators behind the costume.

The wolf suit ultimately took 50 days to create and the customer spent a whopping 3,000,000 yen ($20,272.95) on the costume. But was he happy with it?

There's no denying if you saw this in the woods you'd run for your life.

Well, the customer says at the final fitting for the custom-piece he was left 'amazed' upon seeing his 'transformed self' in the mirror.

He wrote: "It was a moment when my dream come true. My order to 'look like a real wolf walking on hind legs' was difficult – to say the least –, but the complete suit looked exactly like what I imagined.

"[...] It only took about three days from the final fitting to the delivery, but the three days felt very long. It was a kind of excitement I have not felt for a long time."

The customer took to Zeppet's website to thank the workshop for the creation.

He wrote: "I like to extend my gratitude to the studio for the great work. I am grateful for their thoughtful, careful service until the very end.

"Thanks to the studio, one of my childhood dreams has come true.

"There may be another opportunity to ask for the studio’s service, and I am very much looking forward to it."
