YouTuber's prized car collection to be auctioned off after he's sent to prison and it could fetch millions

YouTuber's prized car collection to be auctioned off after he's sent to prison and it could fetch millions

The collection incudes not one, but four Lamborghinis

US Marshals are to sell off the car collection of a YouTuber after he was sent to prison.

Bill Omar Carrasquillo, known on YouTube by his username Omi in a Hellcat, had amassed an impressive collection of cars including no less than four Lamborghinis, as well as numerous others.

But Carrasquillo's collection is now set to be auctioned off after he was jailed for his role in a copyright-infringement scheme in March.

The YouTuber was sent to prison for five and a half years after it emerged that he was part of a group defrauding people.

A press release from the Eastern District of Pennsylvania's US Attorney's Office said that the group would illegally sell pirated access to a number of TV networks to their own subscribers.

Among the charges were 'piracy of cable TV, access device fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and hundreds of thousands of dollars of copyright infringement'.

The YouTuber spoke out after his arrest.

Carrasquillo, 36, was also ordered to pay $10.7 million compensation to the cable companies, more than $5 million to the IRS, and to forfeit $30 million in illegally-made profits.

Among the assets seized during the case was his collection of cars, comprising of 32 vehicles.

The proceeds from the collection being auctioned off are likely to stretch into the millions.

Among the many set to be auctioned are two Lamborghini Huracans, a 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS, a 2020 Audi R8 V10, and a 2020 Bentley Continental GT V8.

This doesn't account for vehicles including motorbikes, ATVs, and dirt bikes.

In total, the auction will have a total of 57 lots.

It is scheduled to be held on 13 October, however bidding has already started on the Apple Towing Co auction website.

This Lamborghini currently has the highest bid, of $380,000.

The highest bids are currently held by the YouTuber's four Lamborghinis, and all of them are offers in six figures.

The highest bid of all is on a 2019 Lamborghini Aventador LP740-4 S, with a Power Rangers wrap. This currently has an offer of $380,000.

US Marshals official Jennifer Crane told WTOP: "These are a little bit better than coming off a used car lot, because someone actually had them in their garages before we took them.

"Before we took them someone was probably taking really good care of them."

She said getting the cars was a 'major law enforcement win'.

Crane explained this would allow marshals 'to take the items away from the bad guys, liquidate them to get the highest that can gather from the car sales, to be able to provide some of the proceeds back to the victims'.
