With wealth disparity now at the highest it has ever been, the divide between haves and have nots has seemingly never been more stark.

A TikToker has shown just how expensive many of the everyday objects used by the super wealthy are. Whether it's a private jet, dropping tens of thousands of dollars on a night out, or expensive cars, the amount of money spent on frivolous items and status symbols is obscenely high.

And few things scream 'status symbol' more than dropping tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars on a watch. Seriously. There's one on your phone.

One TikToker has documented just how expensive the watches were at a 4 July party hosted by billionaire Michael Rubin. The values of some of them are mind-boggling.

These watches are expensive. And not the price of a car; we're talking more than the price of a house expensive. On a watch.

So, let's get into just how much these watches cost.

Tom Brady turned up to the party wearing a Patek Philippe Nautilus watch. This was valued by the TikToker at $97,500.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hart was spotted wearing a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, which was valued at $118,450.

On a side note, who names these things?

We're just gearing up though (get it?), as James Harden wore a Richard Mille RM 030, which costs $190,000.

These are just the tip of the iceberg.

In the end, the watch that clocked in as the most expensive in the video was worn by rapper Travis Scott.

The interesting timepiece is called the Richard Mille RM 69 Erotic. The watch is decorated with a caption above the dial which says "I lust to caress you madly". The dial also changes to show a different message.

The incredibly measured and subtle timepiece cost a whopping $850,000. Seems that all the money in the world can't buy good taste.

For context, $850,000 is enough to buy you an apartment in New York. In 2021, a castle in Scotland which has been owned by the same family for 450 years went on the market for the equivalent of $830,000.

That's right, for the price of a watch that says 'I lust to caress you madly' on it, you could buy a literal castle in Scotland.

There's money, and there's money.

An honourable mention also goes to OBJ, who wore an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, but in blue. This was considerably more than the other version, being on sale for $581,219.

You'd have to really like the colour blue for that.
