Lando Norris has claimed a dominant victory at the Dutch Grand Prix, backing up his previous win with another commanding drive around Zandvoort.
The McLaren driver passed both Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton in quick succession to seize the lead, then pulled away to such an extent that he was matching the pace of drivers on fresher tyres despite running on older rubber.
It capped off a dramatic afternoon that began in the worst possible fashion for home favourite Max Verstappen, whose race ended within seconds of the lights going out.

How did Max Verstappen's race end so early?
Verstappen triggered a red flag with a huge first-lap crash in front of his home crowd, ending any hopes of a fourth consecutive Zandvoort win. Nico Hulkenberg was forced into evasive action to avoid his own team-mate, Gabriel Bortoleto, who span out just behind the Verstappen incident.

Sky Sports F1's Karun Chandhok was full of praise for Norris's turnaround, saying his pace had been 'unbelievable', with a lap time that saw him not only catch but overtake Antonelli despite running on the older tyres. He credited McLaren for finding pace they hadn't shown the day before.

What happened in the fight for the podium?
Behind Norris, the battle for the remaining places went down to the wire. George Russell was ordered by his Mercedes team to let team-mate Antonelli through into second place, with Antonelli having fresher soft tyres on a late charge.
That left Russell fending off a fast-closing Lewis Hamilton for third, with the Briton going close on the inside of Turn One before Russell held on to defend the position.
A Virtual Safety Car for track debris in the closing laps briefly interrupted the fight before racing resumed for the final two laps.
Further back, Fernando Alonso was enjoying one of Aston Martin's better afternoons of a difficult 2026 season, running in the points in ninth position.
