Mike Tyson's performance in fight against Jake Paul has viewers all pointing out the same thing

Mike Tyson's performance in fight against Jake Paul has viewers all pointing out the same thing

Last night marked Mike Tyson's first professional fight in almost 20 years

People are all saying the same thing about Mike Tyson following his performance last night.

Tyson faced YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in the ring on (November 15) and came out of retirement for the highly anticipated match.

The boxing match had long been in the works and was supposed to take place in July, but the celebrity pair were forced to postpone it due to health issues Tyson was facing.

There were initially fears that the fight wouldn't happen at all, but it was quickly rescheduled to take place a few months later to give Tyson time to recover and return to training.

But despite it being pushed back for Tyson's sake, the 58-year-old sports champion was still defeated by Paul.

He wasn't knocked out, however. The amateur boxer won on points instead.

Tallies at the end of the fight found that Paul landed a whopping 78 punches, while Tyson only landed 18.

With their 31 year age gap in mind, people have been applauding Tyson online (despite his loss).

"Mike took the 8 rounds like a champion, he’s 58 years old," someone said on Twitter.

A second added: "Mike Tyson still had it in him and He's 58! Bro went 8 rounds."

Labeling him as a 'living legend', another boxing fan raved: "You all can say you wasted your time, I didn’t. That’s Iron Mike Tyson.

"You got to see him box. He’s 58 years old. He made you believe he could do it. He didn’t go down. Dude is an actual living legend."

Others argued that Paul wouldn't have stood a chance against Tyson when he was at the peak of his career.

"Shout out to @MikeTyson," someone said. "He’s 58!! Best to ever do it. Jake Paul couldn’t go 3 rounds with Mike in his prime."

Another said that the 27-year-old YouTuber 'would be destroyed' by Tyson back in the day.

Despite the defeat, Tyson has insisted that it won't be the last boxing fans will see of him.

When asked if the fight would be his last, he replied: "I don’t know. It depends on the situation. I don’t think so."

"I didn’t prove nothing to anyone, just myself," Tyson continued.

"I’m not one of these guys who goes out to please the world, I’m just happy with what I can do."

While he lost, it's expected that Tyson will still get a whopping $20 million payday.
