Pro wrestler speaks out for first time after being horrifically attacked by former UFC fighter’s son

The Pro wrestler was taking part in a scripted bout in Los Angeles when the son of former UFC champion Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson jumped him

The pro wrestler who was beaten unconscious by a former UFC fighter's son while taking part in a scripted fight, has spoken out.

Raja Jackson - the son of former UFC champion Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson - leapt into the ring while Syko Stu, real name Stuart Smith, was in a predetermined bout with another wrestler.

After entering the ring, the 25-year-old lifted the 38-year-old in the air before body slamming him to the floor and pouncing on him - landing more than 20 bare-knuckle punches to his head as Smith lay limp in the ring.

Douglas Mallow, the wrestler who stopped the horrific attack - which took place at a Los Angeles KnokX Pro Wrestling event, has since spoken out as he explained he head-butted Jackson after he punched him in the eye as he tried to calm him down.

Now, taking to Instagram, the family of Smith penned a heartfelt message thanking his fans for their support, with the statement also having been signed off by the pro wrestler.

"Stuart has been released from the hospital and is now home resting," it read.

"He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER. His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.

"He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through."

The statement continued: "We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way—whether through monetary donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. With love and respect, Contessa Patterson & Stuart Smith (aka SykoStu)."

As for why the assault took place, which the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating, a video circulating on social media showed what may have spurred the punches.

It shows the former US army veteran hitting Jackson on the side of the head with something that appears to be a can of sorts, with the liquid spraying out after making contact with his head.

Raja was allegedly told to give Smith 'his receipt' (wrestling terminology for payback), and was heard saying on his livestream: "As long as I get my lick back, I'm straight. They told me to hit him and just leave, someone will pull me off of him and we'll leave. I'm telling you I'm gonna hit him as many times as I can, watch."

LADbible Group has contacted Raja Jackson's representatives for comment.
