Apple Martin's friend speaks out after videos go viral of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's daughter's 'mean girl' behavior

Apple Martin, the nepo baby of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, has been accused of being a 'spoiled brat'.

On Saturday (November 30), the esteemed Debutante Ball, or Le Bal des Débutantes, to give it its full French name, took place at the Hotel Shangri-La in Paris - and the Coldplay frontman's daughter made quite a name for herself.

There's a couple things I'd like to unpack, with the first being what a nepo baby is - short for nepotism, and it pretty much refers to a person whose mom or dad are successful and they hand that success down to their children to follow in their footsteps.

And let's face it, you've probably never heard of a debutante ball before; they date as far back to the 18th century, and according to Britannica, they 'were originally intended as an avenue through which to present young women eligible for marriage to prospective high-society partners'.

That's not so much the case now, as they are mainly now used for young women to make a 'formal entry into society'.

That entry was well and truly made by 20-year-old Apple Martin, despite making headlines as she became a 'Chanel girl' at the Paris Fashion Show in January last year, but those impressions weren't so favorable... at least, according to users online who've watched clips taken from the night.

One of those viral videos was posted to TikTok and it included Apple seemingly stealing the limelight from Alienor Loppin de Montmort.

While the French countess posed for photos, Apple stepped out and did the same beside her, with people arguing she should have let Loppin de Montmort to finish.

Commenting on the video, one person typed: "She just came and stole that other girl's thunder...ok."

A second wrote: "Apple has been and always will be a mean girl."

But not everyone thought the same. Another added: "Why are people being so mean. She's just having fun."

Even Loppin de Montmort came to her defense.

Speaking to People magazine, she said: "[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever! She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting.

“She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs [debutantes]!"

But another video seemed to cause just as much upset online, as it appeared to show Apple rolling her eyes at her date Count Leo Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Taking to Twitter, one person commented: "Just watched the video. Apple Martin is a spoiled brat. Nobody taught her humble. She only learned how to be center of attention and mean."
