The US Army sergeant who danced with Melania Trump during Donald Trump's inaugural Commander-in-Chief Ball has shared what she said to him.

Sergeant Henry Waller was seen waltzing with Melania, while Trump was partnered up with Sergeant Tatiana Saldana from the United States Space Force on Monday (January 20).

During the event, which marked the beginning of Trump’s new term in office, the US President and First Lady were joined on stage by the vice-presidential couple, JD and Usha Vance, who also danced with members of the military, the Marine Corps and Navy respectively.

In clips posted to social media, as well as broadcasted around the world, Waller and Melania were seen smiling at each other and, at one point, she could be seen whispering in his ear.

The pair were swaying at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and in an interview with Inside Edition, Waller opened up about the experience as people were buzzing with questions on what they could have talked about.

"I walked out on stage. I was trying to contain my composure, but we were told that it's not like ceremonial composure. We can smile if you want to," he said.

The sergeant added: "I was just overwhelmed with joy being out on the stage where all these people are cheering for me."

Waller was asked if the First Lady said anything to him to which he revealed: "I asked her how her night was going. She said it was going good. She asked me how mine was. I said, 'It was fantastic'."

He then shared whether Melania had some great dancing feet and was a 'good dancer' as he said: "Oh, yeah, she's a really good dancer."

Waller also admitted that the 'only rehearsing' he did was 'back home with [his] wife'.

In other news, the inauguration was full of viral moments and you may have missed one of the biggest ones.

When the First Lady Melania and President Trump went in for a kiss, it failed to land on his wife's cheek.

A body language expert revealed that while it appeared Trump was pining for a lip-to-lip kiss, Melania turned her face away so that he could only kiss her cheek.

At this point, the pair awkwardly 'settled for an air kiss' which was then pointed out by viewers as possibly something to do with Melania's incredibly huge hat.

Some thought it was a 'strange' choice by the First Lady whose face was barely visible under the fedora.

Not only that, but John Fetterman, the Senator of Pennsylvania, rocked up wearing grey shorts, sneakers, and a black hoodie which his supporters describe as his 'trademark outfit'.

The Democrat told ABC News last month that anyone hoping Trump would fail is 'rooting against the nation'.
